I believe financial planning should reduce your anxiety, provide you with clarity, and align your finances to create the life you want for you and your family. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I help families build mindful plans that help lead to an abundant future.

What is Mindful Financial Planning?

My clients practice intentional living that aligns with their core values. Mindful planning applies thoughtful processes to your financial decisions.

We take time to focus on the factors within your control and make space for practical implementation and flexibility as you apply the plan to your life.

Not all financial planners are created the same. As a CFP® I meet rigorous professional standards and have agreed to hold to principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when working with clients.

Becoming a CFP® requires thousands of certification hours, met through years of work under supervision and mentorship. All Certified Financial Planner™ professionals adhere to one of the the highest ethical and educational standards in the industry.

As a CFP® I’m committed to working on your behalf to help you identify your goals and realize your abundant future.

My Biggest Regret About Opening My Own Practice

Growing up the son of two small business owners I always dreamed of starting my own financial planning practice, but not until the time was right. That time finally came in early 2009 when my job became collateral damage in the economic downturn. So with my wife’s blessing and support I launched my business.

More than eight years later my only regret is not leaping into my dream sooner.

This practice allows my family to live our version of an abundant life -  complete with the flexibility to coach my daughter’s soccer team, volunteer in the community, serve on public boards and travel the world.

Meet the Whole Gang

The decision to start from scratch would not have been possible without the support of my wife, Michelle. She has patience that I will never possess. I'm lucky to call her both my wife and best friend.

Michelle is passionate about nutrition, health and fitness. She’s also a runner, traveler, and foodie. While she’s an HR manager by day, Michelle is a wonderful mother to our daughter Reagan (aka "The Intern") who joined our family in June 2013. To say Reagan is our world would be an understatement and yes, she’s got both Mom and Dad wrapped firmly around her finger.

I played a lot of tennis growing up and I still enjoy playing at a semi-decent level most days. We enjoy hanging out with our neighbors in Riverside, making frequent trips to the Brookfield Zoo with Reagan, and visiting our local farmers markets in Oak Park & Riverside.

Travel is also an important part of our lifestyle. We spend part of the Chicago winter in warmer weather. We've visited Florida, Arizona, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Mexico in recent years. We also spend time each summer in Rhode Island with my family, take frequent trips to the lake in Michigan, and make it a priority to regularly visit the East Coast to see family and friends.
